Masquerade

In a shimmering purple dress,
She entered the dimly lit hall,
With a purple mask on her beautiful face,
She entered the dimly lit hall.
Girls with beautiful dresses,
And their creative masks,
Gliding on the floor,
With their newly bought shoes.
All of a sudden, with a pain in her head,
She awoke from a dream, her glass dream.
With tears in her eyes, she picked up the broom
Cleaning the house for another day.

Parents

Family is like the Human Body. It has different organs for performing diverse functions. In a family: Dad is the one who will lecture you back to the right track if required! Mum is the one who makes sure you eat well and live a healthy lifestyle. She is also the best friend in the family (though sometimes, she can be stricter than Dad). Siblings are the support and defense system. They support you when you’re right and they defend (most of the time) when parents start scolding.
The body has a way of distributing its nutrition and energy throughout the body equally. There is an exception, however, with the case of water. When the body doesn’t have the amount of water it requires, it goes into a state of emergency and to ensure that the rest of the organs remain safe; the brain shrinks in size and minimizes its water intake. On receiving the appropriate amount of water; it returns to its normal size but permanent damage occurs in the brain.
In a similar way, parents don’t think twice before spending for their children’s future. They won’t mind going through a financial crunch if it means securing the lives of their children.
We all take our parents for granted most of our lives. It’s only when they get sick or hurt when we realize their importance. Never take for granted the two people who brought you into this world.
Why wait till it’s too late?

Re-Awakening!

Walls closing in, nowhere to go,
Darkness everywhere;
Voices drowning me, my soul.
I felt like I was falling
But you embraced my heart
With the light of your soul,
Brought me back to life
And reawakened my Soul.

The Faithful Bird

Perched on a high branch,
The bird felt gravity;
Dreading the winter
The unknown far South
And departure from her Beloved.
Must I follow the herd,
Runaway from the cold,
And go to a warm place,
Only to return when everything is all right?
How does that make
Me loyal, faithful?
I will not betray you,
I will stay here
Even if it kills me.
Death must come to all,
It’s how we all end.
I’d rather die in your arms,
Than on my way away
From You and Your warmth.
No matter how dreadful
Your winter might be;
No matter how cold
You may be to me;
Your heart’s warmth,
Your soul’s radiance,
Cannot be hidden from me.
I will remain perched
On this high branch
And stand by You
In your frigid weather.
I’ll be here, Always.

Can't Control It? Leave It

Many things that occur in day-to-day life are uncontrollable. You can’t control the Sun, the weather, and other people and sometimes even yourself.
Have you heard people getting upset and cursing the weather when it’s too hot or too cold? Cursing won’t change the weather. You can’t control it because Mother Nature isn’t here just for you. When you try to control everything in your life, you assume that things should be the way you want them to be because no one’s opinion is greater than yours. “You know the best for EVERYONE”- you don’t. No one is the centre of the universe. The Universe doesn't work on your whim and wishes.
                So, what to do if something occurs in your life that is unpleasant? You can’t turn the clock back and redo things, so you will have to let go and move on. Life doesn’t stop just because of mistakes, misfortune or failures. It’s up to you to learn from them, take something positive from them and make your experience of life richer.
